KADA is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-sectarian and non-ethnic organisation committed to human development and social upliftment of the deprived, marginalised rural communities in the northern part of Ghana.
The organisation seeks to achieve total and sustainable human development and holistic improvement of the well-being of the people in the rural communities in the north of Ghana.

History

KADA is the brainchild of Musah Adam and Shane Williams Dayton and other stakeholders in Ghana who are dedicated to ensure equitable development for both rural inhabitants and poor urban dwellers, especially women and children.
The organisation was founded in August 2006 and duly registered under the company's code 1063 (Act 179) with registration number G.19,485. Its headquarters is in Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana.

Mission

The aim of KADA is to support the marginalised and the deprived, especially women and children, to realise their full potentials and contribute to the sustainable improvement in their lives by facilitating lasting change through the provision of micro-credits, education, advocacy, networking, partnership and forming linkages with other organisations that share a common vision.

Our vision is to become a renowned and reputable organisation playing leading roles in the advocacy for empowerment of women and better future for children.

Core Values

We respect the views of all persons we come in contact with: irrespective of their sex, age, race, ethnicity and religion. We believe in startegic partnership, service to mankind and human develoment. Also, we uphold the policies of transparency and accountability with our partners, project benficiaries, donors and staff, acting consistently with a view of achieving outmost success and positive impact in all projects and programmes we undertake.

Objectives

1. To empower women to improve their socio-economic status, demand and insist on their rights and actively take part in governance and decision making at all levels.
2. To reduce extreme poverty and hunger by establishing income-generating projcts for women and the youth in the rural communities.
3. Equip children for a productive and challenging future.
4. To create awareness among rural folks on reproductive health issues such as family planning and HIV/AIDS, STDs, Malaria and TB using participatory learning and action tools.
5. Promotion of appropriate sanitation and water supply.
